Meet Isabelle

Isabelle was born and raised in Belgium. She moved to the United States after meeting her husband while vacationing in San Francisco. After raising their two sons in the Midwest and becoming empty-nesters, they moved to Arizona and made the Southwest their home. Together, they are cultivating a life rooted in family and intentional living.

Isabelle’s journey into midwifery was unplanned, yet deeply meaningful and shaped by curiosity, connection, and a deep respect for the wisdom and inner strength of the human body.

She began her career as a registered nurse on a medical-surgical unit before transitioning into labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing, with occasional work in the neonatal intensive care unit. Through this work, she witnessed both the power of physiologic birth and the importance of presence, trust, and individualized care. These experiences called her to midwifery, where she could support women more fully—emotionally, physically, and intuitively.

After practicing for a few years as a hospital-based midwife, she founded in 2017 My Mindful Birth, a homebirth practice in the Chicago suburbs serving families who desired a more personalized birth experience rooted in autonomy and informed choice. In 2023, Isabelle relocated to Arizona and joined a team of midwives at a birth center. In 2025, recognizing that homebirth was where her heart truly is, she reopened her practice here in the East Valley as My Mindful Birth Arizona.

Isabelle believes that birth is an empowering and transformative experience, a sacred rite of passage. Her calm presence and caring attitude allow space for intuition, autonomy, and a deeply transformative birth experience.

Outside of her midwifery work, Isabelle finds grounding and renewal in nature. She cherishes time with her family, enjoys camping, road trips, paddleboarding, and spending quiet moments watching the wild horses at the Salt River. These moments of connection and presence continue to shape the way she shows up for the families she serves
