Prenatal Visits

Your care follows the same schedule of traditional obstetric appointments. Typically, the first visit is scheduled when you are about 10 weeks pregnant with some variations depending on your individual needs. We also accept transfers later in the pregnancy. Then, we see you once a month until the 28th gestational week, every other week until the 36th weekly and then weekly visits until delivery. Each prenatal appointment is done in our office and takes about an hour in length, giving us plenty of time to develop a solid, trusting relationship. At each visit, our care is thorough and personalized, we focus on nutrition, stress management, so that you have the healthiest and most well rounded pregnancy experience possible. We aslo make the appropriate clinical assessment, obtain lab specimens standard to pregnancy, give referrals as needed, address all of your questions and concerns and create an individual birth plan.

Birth

While we focus on the natural process of childbirth, we provide continuous labor support to the laboring woman by offering massage, warm or cool compresses, suggesting changes in position, assisting with physical support for different labor positions, walking with a laboring woman, providing hydration and snacks and offering words of encouragement and support. And sometimes, just being there with a laboring woman can be enough. These makes it less likely for a woman to request pain medication or need medical interventions.

We'll meet you right where you are, with the unhurried attention you deserve, to guide you towards a safe and joyful experience, with memories to cherish and a source of strength and courage for life.

Our midwives are on call 24/7 to serve your needs or address your concerns.
